Danielle Smelter

Biography

I am a Melbourne-based artist, curator, sometimes writer and forever a researcher.

I work primarily with photography, video, and performance to explore psychological manifestations of my environment. Recent projects focused on domestic isolation and unseen and unpaid care work that occurs in the private sphere. I delved into the space of affect and trauma through the use of repetition, simple gestures and performativity. I am currently focused on expanding my work on economies of care and mutuality.
